Puppy diet
Our pups are reared and thrive on a raw meaty bone diet. Usually chicken wings and carcass portions.
NB : NEVER feed your dog cooked bones because they harden to become sharp and brittle.
Exercise • first 3 months
Other than playing, do ensure that your new pup avoids strenuous activity like running and jumping for the first 3 months. Limit dog walking to a maximum of 5-15 mins a day, if that! The reason is that many bone joints are as yet not fully formed or conjoined. To over-stress new bone growth, particularly in the legs and hip joints can cause serious developmental issues and long-term conditions such as hip dysplasia. As a general rule, allow them to ware themselves out until older.
Mental Activity and Welfare
Separation Anxiety + Socialisation
Partly due to their sensitive nature, Vizsla's generally don't fair well with stressing containment such as kennels. They benefit greatly, particularly during the training years, if encouraged to socialise 'responsibly' with other dogs.
